Kerry Parents and Friends Association was established in 1973 as a support to families of people with an intellectual disability and the Franciscan Sisters of the Divine Motherhood in their work with persons with an Intellectual Disability at St. Mary of the Angels, Beaufort near Killarney. The Association became a Service Provider in 1978 in response to an urgent need for services for adults with an intellectual disability in Co. Kerry. The Association provides community based Day, Residential and Support Services for more than 250 adults with an intellectual disability and their families in various locations throughout Kerry.
